Open Source Toolchain for Fully Automated Provisioning

We've been working on a collaborative effort to define a reference toolchain for automated provisioning. The original goal of this toolchain was to help make sense of the various open source automation tools that are available. However, there is no reason why this toolchain isn't just as valid when considering closed source tools.
The early efforts have yielded both a draft of the toolchain and an accompanying whitepaper.
